Temple tour is an essential healing for me.
-Kyomoto Taiga

It seems like you love temple tours.

It started with Kyoto's Sanjusangen-do. At first, it is trip with a friend to eat good food and to do sightseeing. The sight of Buddhist statues lined up in a row in Sanjusangen-do, which we happened to stop by, is a masterpiece. I felt like a place like that has an importance to me.

When I started visiting different temples such as Kiyomizu-dera and Rokuharamitsu-ji, I had a feeling that "I could stay here" more than I thought I could have. Honestly, when we visit temples in our field trips back when I was in middle school and high school, I am the type who will run away and wander around. But now, it became an important place for me to reset and be separated from work and people.

My hobby includes collecting temple seals, and as a result, it lead me having a tv variety show job, but temples and shrines tours are really essential healing to me. The mood in tearoom is also great. I was able to reaffirm that I want to make a Japanese-style room when I build my house someday. It calms my heart.

I have always Japanese culture, but it is condensed in Kyoto. When I get a day-off, Kyoto is the place that abruptly croesses my mind. The change of the season - cherry blossom, fresh green leaves, autumn colors, snowy landscape, is fantastic. And, there is also a feeling of nostalgia in a way. Also, in a magazine related work, I also got a chance to take care of a bonsai. That's why, I love Japanese products and services.

You have become accustomed to wearing Kimono too, aren't you?

When I appeared in a period drama, my body was absored in the manner and walking in Kimono. More or less, I might have used my experience from that time.

I usually wear Japanese-style clothes. I know a person who makes clothes as a hobby, and he presented a hatama-style bottom.
I often wear it even in shootings for YouTube videos. I thought if there is a footwear that could be paired with it, so I bought a Japanese footwear sandals, and paired the two together. It would be nice if I have my own Kimono too, right? I long to make one someday, but......since I must have a knowledge about [tailoring] before making one, if I became a man who is suitable in making a Kimono, then I want to make one (laughs).
